The short answer

There is no single price for UGC in the UK. The cost of a UGC video depends mainly on how many videos and variations you need, which creators make them, the usage rights (especially paid ads, duration and territory), whether you want whitelisting or Spark Ads, how much editing is involved, and who does the work: you, a self-serve platform or a fully managed agency. Two quotes only make sense side by side when they cover the same scope.

This guide explains each factor so you can budget sensibly and compare quotes properly. No Filter UGC is a UK UGC video agency, so we quote projects individually rather than publishing a price list; the factors below are the ones we, and most agencies, use.

What you're actually paying for

A finished UGC video is more than a creator's time on camera. Depending on how you buy it, the price can include:

  • Strategy and briefing: turning your goals into concepts, hooks and talking points. See how to brief UGC creators.
  • Casting: finding, vetting and shortlisting creators who suit your audience.
  • The creator's fee for filming and delivering raw footage or an edited video.
  • The usage licence: the right to use the video in specific places for a specific time.
  • Editing: cutting, captions, music, hook variations and extra crops.
  • Project management: shipping products, chasing deadlines, quality control and revisions.

When you hire freelance creators directly you pay mainly for the creator's fee and licence, and do the rest yourself. With an agency, those other parts are bundled into the quote, which is why the per-video figure looks different.

1. Number of videos and variations

Volume is the biggest driver. A project with several videos usually costs less per video than a one-off, because briefing, casting and shipping are shared. Ask how variations are counted: one video with three different hooks is cheaper to make than three separate videos, but gives your ad account more to test.

2. Creators

Creator fees vary with experience, on-camera skill, production quality and demand. Specific requirements also affect cost: a particular age range, skin type, clothing size, location or language narrows the pool. Using several creators on one product costs more than one creator making several videos, but it helps you learn which faces and styles your audience responds to.

3. Usage rights

Usage rights are often the line item that surprises brands. A licence that covers only your organic channels costs less than one that includes paid ads, and longer terms or worldwide territory cost more than shorter, UK-only ones. Perpetual rights or a copyright buyout sit at the top end. If you might run a video as an ad, include paid use from the start; adding it later is usually more expensive. Our guide to UGC usage rights explains the options.

4. Whitelisting, Spark Ads and creator posting

Running ads from a creator's own account (Meta partnership ads or TikTok Spark Ads) needs the creator's permission and access, and normally carries a separate fee and time limit. Asking creators to post the video on their own channels is a different service again, closer to influencer marketing, and is priced with the creator's audience in mind.

5. Editing and formats

Raw footage is the cheapest option but leaves the editing to you. Edited, ad-ready videos with captions, music and a clear hook cost more, and so do extras such as additional crops (1:1, 4:5), voiceover, motion graphics, montages that combine several creators, or alternative cut-downs for different placements.

6. Product and logistics

Creators need your product in hand. Shipping, multiple sizes for fashion, shade ranges for beauty, perishable or bulky items, and returns all add time and cost. Services, apps and software are often simpler because nothing needs to be posted.

7. Turnaround and revisions

Tight deadlines limit which creators are available and may need more coordination. Check how many revision rounds are included and what happens if a video doesn't follow the brief: a lower quote with no revisions can end up costing more once reshoots are added.

How to get a quote you can compare

Send every supplier the same short scope:

  • the product and what you want the videos to achieve (for example, prospecting ads on Meta and TikTok);
  • the number of videos, and how many hooks or variations per video;
  • how many creators, and any must-have creator profile;
  • the usage rights: channels, territory and duration, plus whether you want whitelisting or Spark Ads;
  • whether you need raw footage or edited, captioned videos, and in which formats;
  • your deadline.

Then compare the total cost of getting usable, licensed videos, not just the headline price per video.

Ways to make your budget go further

  • Test before you scale. Start with several short videos and different hooks, then extend rights and order more of what works.
  • Ask for hook variations. New openings on a strong video are a cost-effective way to refresh creative.
  • Buy the rights you'll use. Paid rights for the platforms you run ads on, for a term that matches your plans.
  • Write a clear brief. Most reshoots come from unclear briefs, not bad creators.

FAQs

How much does a UGC video cost in the UK?

It depends on the number of videos, the creators, the usage rights, whether you need whitelisting or Spark Ads, the editing involved and whether an agency manages the project. Compare quotes on the same scope rather than on a headline price per video.

Why do UGC agencies cost more per video than freelancers?

An agency quote usually bundles briefing, casting, creator fees, usage rights, editing, revisions and project management. With freelancers you pay mainly for the creator's fee and licence, and your team does the rest.

Do usage rights affect the price of UGC?

Yes. Organic-only rights cost less than paid ad rights, and longer terms, worldwide territory, perpetual rights and whitelisting or Spark Ads all increase the price.

Is it cheaper to order several UGC videos at once?

Usually, per video. Briefing, casting and product shipping are shared across the project, and hook variations of one video cost less than separate videos.

Does No Filter UGC publish prices?

No. Every project is scoped individually, based on the number of videos, creators, usage rights and deliverables. Send us your requirements and we'll reply with a tailored quote, usually within one working day.

Want UGC that's ready to run?

We brief, cast and manage creators and deliver ad-ready videos with usage rights included.
